| Will somebody explain to me how a cannon that can destroy everything in the world except it will not effect the nation that fires it is possible?! I fail to see any realism in that. |

| Nope, a high wavelength cannon can only go in a perfetly straight line and it's heat destroys the weapon it's self. So it is impractical for any normal war, in other words it can only attack satellites and other objects that are unabstructed by the Earth curve (Otherwise it would burrow straight through the Earth's mantle because it does not curve enough so cities are safe when the weapon is grounded so to speak) |

| It's still unrealistic. For the weapon to work it would have only seconds when it is in perfect lineament with the satellites. Not to mention the difficulty to track the weapon effectively. With the earths curve, it could not be done by the naked eye, or a telescope. It would need a sophisticated tracking system. So it is very unrealistic. | |

| Wow, really interesting conversation. And I'm being serious.
I think that it is possible for the weapon Kenny's talking about to exist. And I believe it is possible to shoot it. Remember that although satellites are orbiting in space, they are not moving fast. So it is possible to track the trajectory of the satellite and speed, and from there you aim to its path and you shoot. | |

| Yulius i need to correct you. A satellite in space can orbit the entire earth in 45 minutes.

| Still, it's flying in a predetermined path so it doesn't fall off orbit and doesn't crash with other satellites (of the same country of course). It is possible. | |

| With a weapon that couldn't change direction.. it would have to be increadbly fast (speed of sound wouldnt do it) not to mention the other elements that would play a part in the firing of it. | |

| If we can land a rover on a small planet called Mars, I do not think it would be to dificult to determain the trajectory of a satalite and the time to start the weapon. They already have anti-satellite wepons in China nd they tested it and it took out their old weather satelite. Hense it clearly does work |

| Its possible ( with missiles). With missiles they can change and adjust directory. But with a strait shot energy weapon its much more difficult. Unpractical, when you can use missiles that can adjust. | |

| But if it is almost impossible to stop then it would be worth it to have four scatered around your caountry, in my country anyway;)
Besides if a commet comes towards Earth we can call it "Plan A;)" |

| hah well only if the comment is approaching directly at the barrel of this weapon. I still find it quite unrealistic
